GAME PREVIEW
England keeper Robert Green’s fumble against the USA cost them a winning start to their 2010 campaign. Steven Gerrard got them on the scoreboard with a goal in the third minute but the USA’s soft equaliser followed in the 39th minute. Algeria lost their opener to a well placed goal in the 78th minute by Slovenian captain Robert Koren. These teams will meet for the very first time at 2010. England have a superior history over their African counterparts, having played in 13 tournaments and winning it as hosts in 1966. Capello’s men will expect to be victorious at the end of the game. Historically slow starters, England will want to get their front line firing efficiently if they are to make a successful run in the competition and give themselves a chance to lift their second trophy. While Algeria are not expected to win the tournament or even qualify from this group, a win against England would be be a momentous occasion for the African underdogs. They will be looking to top scorer Rafik Saïfi and midfield playmaker Karim Ziani to lead them to their third World Cup
